Info ✦ Premise and Setting
A United Nations resolution is passed to improve international relations. As part of the resolution, the nations are sent to a tropical and deserted island for five days. At the end of the week, a ship will return to pick up the nations and take them back to mainland. Until then, the nations will have to work together to make their vacation successful. The key here is to be able to put aside differences and cooperate.
Also, the island is haunted. But no one knows that yet.
Setting:
A private, tropical island out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The island is small-- you can easily cross the entire length of the island in a day or two. It is made of up white beaches, a forest, spring, and a mansion on the other side.
The nations will arrive here first. It's a beautiful beach with white sand and cool stuff. You can collect all sorts of seashells. There's a dock where their ship will pick them up from. Because it goes quite a way out, you can do some fishing at the end and make a few decent catches if you're patient. On the shore, you might be able to find a few baby turtles swimming out to the sea if you're lucky. You can also find some crabs on the beach.
The beach stretches for awhile but eventually it will begin to get rockier. You'll find pools filled with little fish and small crabs. Eventually it gets so rocky you're climbing over small rocks to get over. If you keep trekking, you'll come to a wall of rock that makes up the base of a cliff.
The forest,
A tropical forest directly up the beach. It starts off sparse but becomes increasingly thicker the farther in you go. If you know what to look for, you can easily find some fruits or other edible plants that you can take back to camp. Exotic birds and insects can be heard all around.
The deeper into the forest you go, the thicker it gets. Eventually, it becomes almost impossible to navigate and very easy to get lost in. It also becomes darker but don't worry, you can still see patches of sky from above. It's not so bad during the day but you probably don't want to get lost out there at night. It will start to get quiet but you'll still be able to hear birds flying through the trees if you listen carefully. Or are those birds?
The spring,
In the forest there is a path that will take you to a freshwater spring in a clear opening. It is decent size and gets deep very quickly, coming up to the shoulders of even the tallest nation. . . and it looks like it could get deeper still. It's very calm and quiet here. Its an excellent place to get away from the beach when it gets too noisy.
Forest path,
The forest path doesn't stop at the spring and it keeps going deeper into the forest. Eventually it gets narrower and the trees close in above so it gets darker. Again, will always be able to still see the sky. The path is very straightforward and doesn't split or anything. It eventually takes you to the owner's mansion but you don't know how far that is.
The mansion,
An old mansion owned by the island's owner. The owner has graciously allowed the nations to stay on his island but has asked them to please not bother them unless it's an emergency. They are very private. The front light is always on.
The cliffs,
Located on either end of the the beach. They're very tall but not so tall you can't climb them! In fact, you can if you want! From the top of the cliff, you can see above the trees, all the way to the other end of the island. You will clearly be able to see where the spring is and you will be able to see the roof of the house. You'll also be able to see all of your friends playing on the beach next to you. It's windy up here. The cliff juts out over some rocks in the ocean.
