Day Four

Day Four Early in the morning, the people in tent two will wake up when their tent begins to shake violently. It will ultimately collapse on them. When they wake up, they will find no one outside. Instead, they will see heavy clouds on the horizon. Also, it looks like someone has gone through the Nations' things. Various belongings have been thrown around camp-- clothes, towels, batteries, toilet paper, food, etc. More food items have been eaten. It is much cooler than it was yesterday and a strong, cool breeze blows. The waves are bigger and it would be dangerous to go out too far. Most nations should be able to tell a storm is coming. Electronic devices do not work. The only way to find out what the weather forecast will be is to use the emergency radio or your own instincts. As the day goes on, the wind will become stronger. Tents might start to come undone and blow in the wind. The weather is getting increasingly worse and they will have to find better shelter. The forest and spring appear normal. Status Weather: Cool, windy, very cloudy. It will rain on and off all day. A storm is coming. Electronics: Music players will play static. The emergency radio is able to pick up weather reports. Cameras: The lighting effects from the previous day are much more visible. Now, you will be able to make out shapes in the photos. They will be able to see different types of faces, hands, and the lower part of a body, etc. In the photos, you will also notice that the figures are getting closer to the people in them. The figures come closer with every photo you take. Be careful of who you take pictures of. Cell phones: Everyone will be able to get a signal at some point during the day for a brief amount of time! However, calls don't seem to go through for some reason. Animals: All pets will disappear. Magic: Ineffective. Nothing will work. ???: Various belongings find themselves randomly thrown around outside. Romania's books are missing. He will find black feathers where his books used to be. [ Hong Kong isn't super fond of this weather. Nonetheless, he's up early and sitting outside. In what's becoming a typical routine in the morning, he's currently going over the photos he's taken since arriving. This is just peachy, isn't it? ]

[Denmark's feeling edgy. He's been alternatively staring out at the ocean and casting distrustful looks at the forest. His pack is all rolled up tightly, since he wasn't too keen on the idea of sand blowing into all of his stuff. It also makes him ready to leave right away, should it come to that. He's actually hoping it will come to that, he's done with this. He's got prettier beaches at home he'd rather lounge on and great beautiful open spaces.

He also keeps seeking out Iceland, making sure he knows were he is.]

[Iceland is kind of relieved to have a breeze, even if the weather in general bodes very badly for them as far as he can tell. He sits down next to Hong Kong once he's up and had some vague attempt at breakfast.]

Anything interesting?

[bauhinia]

[ Hong Kong raises his head, waving at Iceland. ]

Hey. Actually, yeah. Take a look.

[ He hands the camera over to Iceland, having left the display on a particularly strange looking picture he took near the mansion. ]

[volcanoes]

[Iceland frowns at the picture. He definitely didn't see anything like that while they were there.]

It looks like something's there.

Yeah, it does, right? All that weird light on the ones from earlier? I think it's the same thing, it's just getting clearer.

[volcanoes]

So there have been things around the whole time. [Iceland flips through the photos until he gets to the one Hong Kong took of him.

WELP.]

Tent 3

[balzams]

[Latvia is huddled up in his sleeping bag in the tent. After everything that's been happening he's been getting more and more on edge. There's a growing unease amongst the group and he can feel it too. Going anywhere on his own just feels too scary today, with the weather getting increasingly worse he can easily tell that he would get himself into an accident]

[bauhinia]

Yeah, it looks like it. But they're not really bothering us right now, right? [ Which doesn't make too much sense, really. He looks out toward the forest. ]

We need to get inside that house.

[volcanoes]

I guess not. [Iceland follows Hong Kong's gaze before looking back over the ocean at the clouds and the waves.]

We need to get off the beach, too.

[bauhinia]

I'd like to know why that is. [ He can't help but follow Iceland's gaze too, looking out over the water. ]

The house would give us some shelter from this storm. That might be enough to convince some people to come.

[volcanoes]

Maybe they're weaker than the other things on the island. [Iceland isn't really sure how many things are on the island; the idea that they're absolutely surrounded with them and just can't see is disturbing, though.

He snaps a picture of the of the forest--he makes sure not to get anyone in the photo, because he doesn't really want to see anything following anyone around. He's rewarded(?) with a lot of hands.]

...We're going to have to go through there, aren't we?

Yeah, maybe. [ Hong Kong's trying not to let on that he's disturbed by this too, but it's difficult now. Before he was just bluffing a little, and initially he wasn't scared at all. But ever since what happened to Puffin, he's taking this much more seriously.

He leans in, trying to get a look at the picture Iceland took. ]

Yeah, I think so. You can't climb with that arm. [ He gestures to the bandage. ] The cliff's out. But the forest isn't so bad, as long as we don't get lost.

[volcanoes]

[Iceland has improved from yesterday in that he is moving around and not just sitting and staring at the ocean like a zombie. Though it would be hard to tell for someone who didn't know him well, Iceland is still quite unhappy and it's expressing itself in a subtle increase in sluggishness and lack of appetite.

He spent his time after breakfast gathering up his scattered items and looking unhappily at his now empty bag of licorice, and now he's packing everything that's left away. He doesn't really stray too far from Denmark, except to talk to Hong Kong.]

There's going to be a storm.

[volcanoes]

[Iceland shifts toward Hong Kong so he can see the photograph better.]

If we all go it should be okay, right? I mean, if they could have gotten all of us they would have already. [He hopes.]

[bauhinia]

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. We're better off sticking together either way. [ He leans over Iceland's shoulder a little to peer at the picture. It's definitely more worrying than some random blobs of light or something. ]

Are those hands?

[volcanoes]

It looks like it. It's like the forest's trying to grab us, or something.

[Iceland regrets that description as soon as it's out of his mouth.]

[bauhinia]

[ Hong Kong just looks over at him for a second. ]

Then I guess we better make sure it doesn't get us.

[volcanoes]

...Yeah. [He looks up at the forest and back down at the photograph again.]

I bet you really could make money off these photos.

[bauhinia]

I'm totally counting on it.

[ Yes, this is how he thinks. In terms of everything's monetary value. He's sort of impressed that Iceland thought of it too. ]

I bet if people found out about this place, they'd trip over each other trying to get here first.

[volcanoes]

[When you have debt money becomes super important.]

Probably. Stupid of them, though.

[bauhinia]

People aren't really known for being smart. Like, not the majority of them, anyway.

[ How true. ]

[volcanoes]

Maybe if this place got swarmed with scientists and tourists or whatever, the ghosts would get sick of it.

[Iceland flips through a few photos, then pauses and flips back through them again--this time he's focusing on the ones with people in them. Namely, how the things around everyone seem to get closer the later the photo is.]

[bauhinia]

You think they'd just float across the ocean 'til they found another island to haunt? [ He doesn't know how that works. ]

[ And yet again he's kind of leaning over to see what Iceland's seeing. ]

[volcanoes]

Or a boat. [Maybe a cruise in international waters isn't the best option for another outing.]

Look at this. [Iceland shifts quickly between two photos of the same person.] It's getting closer.
