rizaia | Day One

Day One

The nations arrive on the nameless island by boat at mid-afternoon. They will be dropped off at a quiet dock and boat will leave shortly after. At the end of the dock, they will find some items that have been sent ahead for them by their bosses. Among these items are:

- Four tents
- Packs of bottled water and snacks
- A fishing net and a pair of poles
- Two pots and a pan
- Four first aid kits
- A limited supply of alcohol
- An emergency radio
- A limited supply matches/lighters
- Two maps of the island

The beach is nice; clean with white sand and a shady forest up the shore. Aside from the sounds of the waves, seagulls, and the wind blowing through the forest, the island is silent. The nations wanted to a deserted, tropical island getaway and this is certainly the right place for it. The Nations can begin to set up camp or try to explore the island. Due to the time they arrived on the island, they won't be able to get too far before night falls.

Activity
Weather: Sunny, clear, and warm with the occasional cool breeze.

Electronics: Electronic items will work fine during the day without issue. If you're desperate to update your Tw*tter account, you might get lucky and find an area on the beach with a faint signal. It will take a few tries and some patience but you will be able to update your social network of choice or make a brief phone call before you lose connection.

Magic: Magic will work normally on the island during the day.

Animals: Any animal companions brought to the island by a nation will stay close to their companion. Otherwise, they will act normally.

???: No unusual activity.

It's called an aruval in my country. Back in the day it was used in battle, but these days, the only thing it's cracking are coconuts. [he shows the machete off a little before setting it down.] Have you been having fun here?

[He shrugs and chucks the empty coconut to the side.]

Eh, it's alright. It's a bit boring though. And that guy is here too. Urggghhh....

[he tilts his head a little.] That guy? Is there someone here on the island that you do not like?

Y-yeah. You should stay away from him. Even thinking about the guy makes me sick...

You will have to give me the name of such a nation. [he thinks prussia is being serious ahaha sob.] I'm sure you two can put your differences aside and keep some distance between you to. [luckily he does not have this issue.]

Urk. That bastard's name leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Nah, I can't say it. But yeah, I hope he burns in this weather! His home is really fucking cold, so he'll probably fry like a crisp in this sun.

[thinking.... thinking... cold home, fries easily in the sun...]

If England is causing you trouble, I can speak to him on your behalf.

Eyebrows? I can handle him, no sweat!

[He looks around carefully, before he quickly points at a certain scarf-wearing Nation.]

I can't believe he's wearing his stupid scarf out here. I hope he suffocates or something! What an asshole...

[oh, so that's the nation?]

Russia? He's a nice guy once you get to know him, but he's rather strange sometimes. [oh india sob.]

[India, he's just going to stare at you.]

Are you fucking kidding me? India, that guy is crazy!!! He's so messed up he makes Belarus look sane!! Or, maybe they're both nuts, I don't know. But he's bad news!! You shouldn't go near him!

Our bosses have encouraged us to be friends, and I think the advice is very good. [smiling, laughing, yep.] He's just very eccentric and has different needs.

Look, you may not have lived under him but I have, and I tell ya he is completely messed up in the head. His idea of making friends is to fuck them up bad! Just ask Loser-ania!!

No worries, Prussia, I have much experience with these things. I am not going to live in his house any time soon.

W-well, that's good. Not l-like I was worried or anything, because I don't worry about stupid things like that! Just, I won't get to enjoy your coconuts anymore if you live at that bastard's house. He'll probably keep you all to himself too.

I see. [he can see past prussia's words, but he's not going to comment on that.] I don't think England would be very happy about that nor my siblings.

You keep in touch with Eyebrows?

[He sounds genuinely surprised by this.]

I thought you'd hate the grouchy bastard. He was a pain in the ass back in those days.

Yes, quite often. We have tea together and talk business and old times.

Hate it a very strong word. It's not beneficial to my people these days to hold a grudge against him. We've done good and bad things to each other, but in the end I've become stronger and better because I've learned to embrace the future instead of dwelling in the past.

But if you hate him, then you'll want to get back at him for revenge! You'll grow stronger that way.

Revenge is an endless cycle of violence, but forgiveness and acceptance breaks that cycle. It takes the bigger and better man to apologize and forgive than the man who just uses weapons. If I fought with England longer than I did, I am pretty sure I would have been an angrier, bitter nation rather than a stronger one.

That makes no sense! It just means you were weaker than your enemies, and you just gave up fighting because you couldn't do it! I bet if you showed Eyebrows who was boss, he'd never bother you ever again!

I came to realize seeing England as the enemy wasn't going to help, and I did not give up fighting. We simply took a different approach of nonviolence, one that confused many greatly. I think with England being able to realize the errors of his ways rather than me forcing him, he understood what had to be done.

[laughs a little to ease the tension.] The only thing England ever bothers me for is coming over and having tea with him because he wants company.

[It sure is confusing him...]

So you're saying you got Eyebrows to actually listen to you by just...stopping to hate him? But he's such a stubborn ass! That can't have worked!

Hate is a strong word, but mostly I made him rethink his actions and showed him being an empire doesn't make you better, stronger, nor happier.

He's stubborn, but I am just as stubborn in my own way.

[If there's anyone who knows what it means to lose something, it was definitely him. The loss of his land, of his people, and nearly himself had driven him to desperation.

What India was saying couldn't be true.]

Take my advice for it, ok? The world's messed up as hell, and if you're not strong, if you don't have an army, if you have nothing but a fucking name that means nothing to anyone...

[He hates talking about things like this. The switch from a war torn world into a peaceful one where people push papers and smile fake smiles and flatter each other is one he hates.

At least in a war, everyone was honest that they were trying to kill each other.

His good mood gone for now, he turns away and stalks off.]
