Night One

Night One

After an excited day, night falls on the island. The beach is surprisingly bright at night thanks to the full moon above. As it was during the day, the island is very quiet at night and sounds consist of calming waves, soothing wind, chirping insects, and birds in the forest.

Status

Weather: Cool with clear skies and a light breeze.

Electronics: Overall, electronics function normally. Unlike during the day, Nations will be completely unable to catch any signals. Sorry, you'll have to update your F*cebook another time. Things of note:

Hong Kong
's MP3 player will freeze when he tries to listen to it. Turning it off and then back on will correct the issue.

The batteries in Cuba and Latvia's flashlights will die despite the fact they had new batteries in them. They will have to replace the batteries to get the flashlights to work again.

Contrary to everyone else's wireless troubles, Iceland will be the only nation with any sort of signal on his cell phone. He will not have any problems with his phone.

Magic: Magic is very effective tonight, some times too effective. It must be the work of the full moon.

Animals: Pets will stay close to their owners but otherwise act normally.

???: No unusual activity(?)
Lithuania visits the spring at night. Despite his experience, anyone who visits the spring after this will notice nothing out of the ordinary.

A voice speaks to Italy.

Iceland and Hong Kong go to the mansion but are unable to explore further. The United Nations is notified and sends a reminder out. Iceland is the only one able to receive it.

Germany, China, Netherlands, Seychelles, and Japan hear things in the middle of the night.

Day 2 will go up on 4 June.

[ She watched him for a moment, before approaching him with a few stones herself, throwing one just to try. Oh. It simply fell into the water, which got a long sigh out of her. ]

H-how did you...?
volcanoes: (no one is worse though he gets wet)

[Oh, Liechtenstein. Iceland has always been kind of interested in the countries who looked around his age (no matter how old they actually were), but Switzerland was even more protective of her than Norway was of him, so he'd always been a bit wary. Of course, Switzerland isn't here now.]

You have to hit it at an angle or it'll just drop.

[He skips another, but more slowly, so it only bounces a couple of times.]

[ She gave him a polite smile, happy herself that someone else was like her, since it always confused her how everyone else grew and she stayed the same... ]

At an angle... That sounds like something from one of bruder's lessons! [ Let's just hope she doesn't get distracted by something while Iceland is teaching her now. But she gives it a try, tossing it almost the same way he did and she practically grinned while watching it bounce on the water a few times. ]

It worked!

[They'll grow someday, right? Yeah...]

See, it's easy. Sometimes you can skip them over the surf, too. [He tosses a stone out toward a barely cresting wave and watches it hop over; it's funny the useless tricks you learn when you're left alone on an island for years with nothing else to do.]
affectionatewinds: (I love you)

[ She watched it, almost looking like this is the most amazing thing in the world. Shush, let her admire this novel concept of skipping stones, poor double landlocked country. ]

I don't think I'm as good as you though.

[Iceland shrugs.]

You don't live near the ocean. [He skips another.] You can try again if you want. I've got a lot of rocks.

I don't. [ She grins, cheerfully throwing the last one she had. Watching it skip for a moment. ] ...Thank you!
volcanoes: (many are blamed for nothing)

[Iceland blinks and then shrugs it off as much as he can--he's pleased even if he's trying to hide it.] It's no big deal.
affectionatewinds: (in her style)

[personal profile] affectionatewinds 2012-06-03 09:21 am (UTC)(link)
[ She looked back at him with a proud smile, blushing slightly. ]

Hmm, can you do it again?
volcanoes: (least said soonest mended)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-03 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
...Sure. [Skipping another stone.]
affectionatewinds: (that choice is)

[personal profile] affectionatewinds 2012-06-03 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, I see.

[ She threw it again, almost enjoying this too much for the time being. ]
