Night One

After an excited day, night falls on the island. The beach is surprisingly bright at night thanks to the full moon above. As it was during the day, the island is very quiet at night and sounds consist of calming waves, soothing wind, chirping insects, and birds in the forest.

Status
Weather: Cool with clear skies and a light breeze.

Electronics: Overall, electronics function normally. Unlike during the day, Nations will be completely unable to catch any signals. Sorry, you'll have to update your F*cebook another time. Things of note:

Hong Kong's MP3 player will freeze when he tries to listen to it. Turning it off and then back on will correct the issue.

The batteries in Cuba and Latvia's flashlights will die despite the fact they had new batteries in them. They will have to replace the batteries to get the flashlights to work again.

Contrary to everyone else's wireless troubles, Iceland will be the only nation with any sort of signal on his cell phone. He will not have any problems with his phone.

Magic: Magic is very effective tonight, some times too effective. It must be the work of the full moon.

Animals: Pets will stay close to their owners but otherwise act normally.

Lithuania visits the spring at night. Despite his experience, anyone who visits the spring after this will notice nothing out of the ordinary.

A voice speaks to Italy.

Iceland and Hong Kong go to the mansion but are unable to explore further. The United Nations is notified and sends a reminder out. Iceland is the only one able to receive it.

Germany, China, Netherlands, Seychelles, and Japan hear things in the middle of the night.

[Iceland, once he realizes nothing has eaten him and indeed no Hell portals have opened up, looks back over at the house and the shadow moving to the door. Part of him--the part of him that is thinking of every story of trolls and spirits Norway has ever told him--wants to wait and just see that there's a person there. The more reasonable part of him points out they're going to be in trouble with their bosses if they stay.]

Yeah, maybe we should go...

[Of course, he won't leave if Hong Kong doesn't, too.]

[ Hong Kong, as per usual, looks unfazed. Which is probably slightly preferable to morbid amusement - and that is his usual reaction to this kind of thing. He likes to stare death in the face, what can I say. He glances over at Iceland. ]

You aren't curious? [ He looks like he's going to take a step forward. ] I mean, we can totally go, if you wanna.

( From the woods, somewhere down the path, Hong Kong and Iceland will hear their friends calling them. It looks like someone came looking for the lost nations. )

"Where did they go?"

"You'll get in trouble if the owner finds you."

"You'll both be in trouble."

"Hurry up, it's almost time to eat."

Well, maybe just a look...

[Iceland is frozen between the two options, leaning toward further exploration--he isn't about to run off when Hong Kong doesn't seem to be worried at all. He turns automatically toward the voices, though, which seems to have made the decision for them.]

I guess they came looking for us.

[ What bad timing. Hong Kong clearly hasn't gotten the idea of exploring this place out of his head, if his look to Iceland is anything to go by. ]

I guess that's that, yeah? [ For now.... ]

Yeah. Come on, it's going to take us forever to get back anyway. We can come back tomorrow or something.

[Walking back to the path.]

Sounds good to me. [ He will come back on his own if need be. But now his curiosity truly is piqued. ] Hope we don't get in trouble.

[Iceland at least wants some closure to the creepy guy in the house, he definitely wants to go too.]

If they actually went through the forest to find us then maybe a little bit of trouble.

[But it's really odd how no one else seems to be there...]

[ Solve the Mystery with him, Iceland. ]

Maybe we just got lost.

[ He looks around, as if thinking the same thought. ]

[Well at least that's something interesting to do. Maybe.]

Yeah, maybe.

[He'll walk forward a little more before he actually voices his concern.] Where are they?

[ Better than hanging around with their families, who would no doubt disapprove of this kind of exploration... ]

It's not like we had to be out here looking for something. Maybe I just wanted you to follow me while I took pictures of trees.

[ Hong Kong glances at Iceland again. ] We didn't get turned around for real, did we?

[Yeah they'd probably assume they were getting into trouble and try to stop them...]

We're just walking down a path, there's no way we got turned around. [He switches to the flashlight application of his iPhone to get at least some light on the area.] I don't see anyone.

[ Older brothers.... ]

Okay, so like, I don't wanna jump to any crazy conclusions or anything, but if they're not here, where are they? No way China ran away that fast.

If Denmark was here, we'd still be hearing him. Norway would already have found us.

[This is... Unsettling...]

Maybe we oughta worry about getting back first. Something about this is kinda weird.

[ "Kinda" is putting it mildly. ]

A little. [More than a little, and why did Norway have to tell him so many stories?] We should get back to the beach if we just keep walking, right?

Yeah, probably. [ Unless something else weird happens. ] I don't think we oughta tell anyone about this.
