Night Three

Night Three The full moon hangs in the sky again. Everything is eerily calm and quiet at night.  Night three starts off surprisingly normal. Prussia and Greece wil be able to find their cameras in the sand near camp. Status Weather: Cool with clouds coming in. Electronics: No signals. The emergency radio is unable to catch anything. Music players will play static. Camera problems continue. Flashlights turn on and off on their own. Magic: Barely effective. For every seven spells cast, one will work. Animals: If you still have your pet, they will refuse to leave camp. Mr. Puffin still has not returned. ???: ??? Day 3 | Night 3 Day 4 will go up on June 8

So they're probably everywhere... At least at night.

...That kid just appeared. It wasn't there before, right? Or did it follow us to the mansion?

[Was it just invisible the entire time they were walking?]

[bauhinia]

I definitely didn't see it before.

[ He looks off to the side. ] Maybe that was what [ licked me ] was next to me yesterday.

[ That's super creepy, yep. ] No one's actually seen anything at camp, right?

[volcanoes]

I don't think so. But if it's invisible that doesn't... Mean much. [And with that little hesitation he's gone monotone again.]

What if it's behind us right now?

[bauhinia]

[ He pauses a second, working that out. ]

We saw it before. If it were here, I think we'd be able to see it now. [ That's complete speculation, of course, but he needs to figure out how to get off this topic smoothly. ]

[volcanoes]

Maybe.

[He shifts, which is more movement than he's displayed in some time, looking behind them. Nothing but more beach and the forest beyond. His eyes lock on the forest before he turns back to the ocean, slowly.]

I feel like something's wrong. [With him? With the island? With both?]

[bauhinia]

I don't think you're wrong. [ He can't help but follow Iceland's gaze. ] I dunno what to do about it, but it kinda feels like we oughta do something.

[ He looks over at Iceland again, trying to gauge his reaction. ]

[volcanoes]

[Iceland is still looking at the water for now, although he at least is somewhat more normal than a little earlier in the conversation.]

Like what? Go back and get eaten?

[bauhinia]

Hopefully not. [ He digs a stick out of the sand and starts drawing shapes with it. ] But if it looks like our options are go out there and figure this out or stay here and get attacked by whatever this is, I vote we figure it out.

[volcanoes]

If we go on our own again, they probably really will get mad. [Iceland shifts a little bit, turning toward Hong Kong slightly. If it's between waiting here for things to catch them in the night and going out and at least trying to do something--Iceland could at least try to get back at them for what happened to Mr. Puffin.]

[bauhinia]

So what if we asked someone to go with us? [ He's just trying to gauge Iceland's opinion of this idea, of course. ]

[volcanoes]

Do you think someone would? [Iceland latches onto the sense of direction desperately.] Who?

[bauhinia]

I dunno. Who would you think to ask first? [ He looks over his shoulder, back in the direction of the camp. ]

[volcanoes]

It has to be someone who would actually go. [He turns, too, after a moment. He doesn't really know most of the nations here that well, so he isn't sure who to choose.] Turkey's here, right? Maybe he would go.

[bauhinia]

Yeah, he's definitely here. [ He gives Iceland a somewhat appraising look. ] I haven't seen him all day, but I'm sure he's around somewhere. If China caught wind of this, he might wanna go. I dunno for sure.

[volcanoes]

Do you think we could convince China and Denmark--

[He pauses, abruptly.]

Maybe we should all go.

[bauhinia]

Safety in numbers, right? [ He shrugs a little. ]

[volcanoes]

Horror movie rules. If we go by ourselves we're probably asking to get eaten. And they did say to go there if there's an emergency... Though I don't know if that would help anything.

But at least we'd all be working together like they wanted. [Iceland is obviously slowly working his way back to normal.]

[bauhinia]

Yeah, I mean, that's the best we can do, right? [ Hong Kong starts writing something in the sand in Chinese. ] Sitting around here and doing nothing's not really an option.

[volcanoes]

I don't want to just--wait to get eaten. [He watches Hong Kong write, but of course he doesn't know what it says.] We can try to convince everyone to go to the mansion tomorrow morning. At least as many people as we can.

[bauhinia]

Yeah, in the morning when it's light out and you've gotten some sleep. [ He's a little heavy-handed on the second part, but it's probably warranted at this point. ]

[volcanoes]

Right. [He is, actually, starting to feel the exhaustion again. It feels like he's been out in the cold and is only now starting to warm up enough to realize just how cold he'd been.]

What're you writing?

[bauhinia]

[ Hong Kong nods. Okay, that's promising. Maybe Iceland will be able to get some rest. ]

This? Nothing, I'm just going over what happened in my head.

[volcanoes]

A lot of impossible things. [Helpful summary? He yawns.]

[bauhinia]

Yeah, that's this part. [ He circles several characters. ] Want me to walk back with you?

[volcanoes]

[Iceland makes a noise that might actually be an exhausted sort of laugh.] Do you think they'll listen to us?
