Day One

Day One

The nations arrive on the nameless island by boat at mid-afternoon. They will be dropped off at a quiet dock and boat will leave shortly after. At the end of the dock, they will find some items that have been sent ahead for them by their bosses. Among these items are:

- Four tents
- Packs of bottled water and snacks
- A fishing net and a pair of poles
- Two pots and a pan
- Four first aid kits
- A limited supply of alcohol
- An emergency radio
- A limited supply matches/lighters
- Two maps of the island

The beach is nice; clean with white sand and a shady forest up the shore. Aside from the sounds of the waves, seagulls, and the wind blowing through the forest, the island is silent. The nations wanted to a deserted, tropical island getaway and this is certainly the right place for it. The Nations can begin to set up camp or try to explore the island. Due to the time they arrived on the island, they won't be able to get too far before night falls.

Activity

Weather: Sunny, clear, and warm with the occasional cool breeze.

Electronics: Electronic items will work fine during the day without issue. If you're desperate to update your Tw*tter account, you might get lucky and find an area on the beach with a faint signal. It will take a few tries and some patience but you will be able to update your social network of choice or make a brief phone call before you lose connection.

Magic: Magic will work normally on the island during the day.

Animals: Any animal companions brought to the island by a nation will stay close to their companion. Otherwise, they will act normally.

???: No unusual activity.

Day One | Night One
Day 2 will go up on 4 June

[Iceland is looking at the machete and coconut pile with an expression somewhere between curiosity and wariness.]

What are you doing? [There aren't palm trees on Iceland, he does not know how they work.]
sanskrit: (curious ☆ tell me more)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
[he cracks a coconut open with the machete.] Namaste. I am collecting coconuts to share and enjoy. [he offers the coconut to iceland.] Would you like one? I know most nations aren't used to this weather, so it should make you feel better.
volcanoes: (many are blamed for nothing)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. [That's pretty neat, not that he would say that out loud... He takes the coconut.] ...Yeah, it usually doesn't get this hot up where I live. [Because you're on the Arctic Circle, Iceland.]
sanskrit: (england ☆ meet raaj my tiger)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
[he's trying to remember who this is, but it doesn't take that long.] Ah, Iceland, yes? I remember you now. [and maybe something to do with financial things and england screaming about some volcano.] Some parts of my home are much like this, but I usually I'm stuck in the major cities.
volcanoes: (least said soonest mended)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, yay, he's remembered. He likes it when he's remembered... Not so much for the financial stuff and volcanoes, though...]

There are beaches but not like this. I guess you'd get used to it if you lived somewhere this hot.
sanskrit: (mischievous ☆ spit in your tea)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
At least there is an ocean breeze to help keep the humidity down. [laughing. oh poor northern europeans...]

There are ways to help with the heat, though. [and speaking of which, he notices something.] You should wear a hat, do you have one?
volcanoes: (lost in an Icelandic forest? Stand up)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
A hat? No... Maybe someone brought extras. [Iceland would probably literally die without the breeze. Or, more realistically, be melodramatic enough that he might as well be literally dying.]
sanskrit: (amused ☆ laughing)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
You are luckily I am skilled in many trades! [it's more of a joke when he says this. he takes a few leafs and starts working quickly with them.] I'll make you one here that should last for a few days if the weather stays like this.
volcanoes: (many are blamed for nothing)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-03 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Iceland watches curiously, though he's trying--and failing--to hide the fact that he's interested.] It better not rain while we're on vacation.
sanskrit: (sauve ☆ bollywood style)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-03 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Rain in this area shouldn't last long this time of year. [after much bending, tying, and twisting of the leaves, he hands Iceland a hat.] Here you go.
