Day One

Day One

The nations arrive on the nameless island by boat at mid-afternoon. They will be dropped off at a quiet dock and boat will leave shortly after. At the end of the dock, they will find some items that have been sent ahead for them by their bosses. Among these items are:

- Four tents
- Packs of bottled water and snacks
- A fishing net and a pair of poles
- Two pots and a pan
- Four first aid kits
- A limited supply of alcohol
- An emergency radio
- A limited supply matches/lighters
- Two maps of the island

The beach is nice; clean with white sand and a shady forest up the shore. Aside from the sounds of the waves, seagulls, and the wind blowing through the forest, the island is silent. The nations wanted to a deserted, tropical island getaway and this is certainly the right place for it. The Nations can begin to set up camp or try to explore the island. Due to the time they arrived on the island, they won't be able to get too far before night falls.

Activity

Weather: Sunny, clear, and warm with the occasional cool breeze.

Electronics: Electronic items will work fine during the day without issue. If you're desperate to update your Tw*tter account, you might get lucky and find an area on the beach with a faint signal. It will take a few tries and some patience but you will be able to update your social network of choice or make a brief phone call before you lose connection.

Magic: Magic will work normally on the island during the day.

Animals: Any animal companions brought to the island by a nation will stay close to their companion. Otherwise, they will act normally.

???: No unusual activity.

Day One | Night One
Day 2 will go up on 4 June

[If you look near India, you'll see a big pile of coconuts and him carrying a rather large machete. He's smiling, though, singing a song to himself and possibly even dancing.

He'll probably offer you a fresh coconut for a drink/snack or maybe you offer you a hat made from the leaves he collected.]

[you are, like, her kind of person, machete bro.]

Hoooolaaaa! Can I join?
sanskrit: (polite ☆ namaste)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Namaste! [it's totally normal to be so happy with a big machete yep yep.]

Of course. It's been a while since I collected coconuts like this, so I have plenty to share.
spanglish: (ay lol)

[personal profile] spanglish 2012-06-02 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
So many cocos, Dios mío. [yes, i concur] This is a jackpot!

[she's just...going to take one without asking and crack it open excitedly!]
sanskrit: (amused ☆ laughing)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
It seems rather remote, so I am not surprised. [and so he laughs at the display. he doesn't mind at all, cracking open one of the coconuts for himself.] Good, this one is young.

[He's peering at you and all those coconuts, bro. And really, one of those hats wouldn't go amiss, he's going to start burning in about five seconds. Who decided it was a good idea to bring Russia of all people to a tropical island????]
sanskrit: (polite ☆ namaste)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
[oh russia!! he climbs down the tree and cracks open a coconut, offering it to him.] Namaste, Russia. Have this to drink; it should energize you and quench your thirst.
za_rodina: (Default)

[personal profile] za_rodina 2012-06-02 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, spasibo. [He accepts the coconut and tries it. Waah, it's pretty good, actually--! He offers a half smile and nod, taking another drink.] Well, I suppose we could try and live off coconuts if we have to.
sanskrit: (curious ☆ tell me more)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
It's healthier than just drinking regular water in these temperatures. [he sits down, putting down his machete.] Have a seat and take shelter from the sun.
za_rodina: (Default)

[personal profile] za_rodina 2012-06-02 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
[He'll take up that offer, settling next to India with a small smile. Is this what friendship is?]

Because of the vitamins? [He blinks into the coconut as if it holds all the world's answers.] I'm not used to this, but it is nice.
sanskrit: (amused ☆ laughing)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, exactly. When I was young, I might have had more coconut water than actual water. [and that was a very long time ago, but still!! he notices something.] Also, I recommend you wear a hat to keep the sun away from direct contact with your head and eyes.

[with that, he grabs a leaf and begins working on something.] Just give me a few minutes and you'll have a hat.

[personal profile] zhongguo 2012-06-02 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Hiding under a bamboo hat, looking tired. The tent was more difficult than he thought it would be.]

You're in a good mood.
sanskrit: (polite ☆ namaste)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Namaste, China. [just finishes cracking open a coconut.] It's nice to get a vacation like this once in a while, so I rather not ruin it with an unpleasant mood.

[offering the coconut.] Here, you look tired and thirsty. Have a break and take a few minutes to relax.
zhongguo: (umbrella)

[personal profile] zhongguo 2012-06-02 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Is that a subtle dig at his own mood? He can never tell with India. Doesn't matter. He's too tired to rise to the occasion.]

[Accepting the coconut and taking a seat on a nearby log] Aiyaa. So carefree. The tent is finished by the way.
sanskrit: (curious ☆ tell me more)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it? Ah, you should have found me. I would have helped built it.

[he looks around.] Is there a reason to worry? I'll worry when I get back to my office.
volcanoes: (many are blamed for nothing)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
[Iceland is looking at the machete and coconut pile with an expression somewhere between curiosity and wariness.]

What are you doing? [There aren't palm trees on Iceland, he does not know how they work.]
sanskrit: (curious ☆ tell me more)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
[he cracks a coconut open with the machete.] Namaste. I am collecting coconuts to share and enjoy. [he offers the coconut to iceland.] Would you like one? I know most nations aren't used to this weather, so it should make you feel better.
volcanoes: (many are blamed for nothing)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. [That's pretty neat, not that he would say that out loud... He takes the coconut.] ...Yeah, it usually doesn't get this hot up where I live. [Because you're on the Arctic Circle, Iceland.]
sanskrit: (england ☆ meet raaj my tiger)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
[he's trying to remember who this is, but it doesn't take that long.] Ah, Iceland, yes? I remember you now. [and maybe something to do with financial things and england screaming about some volcano.] Some parts of my home are much like this, but I usually I'm stuck in the major cities.
volcanoes: (least said soonest mended)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, yay, he's remembered. He likes it when he's remembered... Not so much for the financial stuff and volcanoes, though...]

There are beaches but not like this. I guess you'd get used to it if you lived somewhere this hot.

[personal profile] proud_and_prussian 2012-06-02 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Hey India! What'cha doing? Where did you get those coconuts?

[Prussia is running over to check out India's smooth moves. He may also be starting to burn a little, because eventhough Germany packed his sunscreen in he forgot to apply it.]
sanskrit: (polite ☆ namaste)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
Namaste, Prussia. [he uses the machete to point up to the nearest tree.] From these trees, of course. [and when his arm goes down, he cuts the coconut in half, soon offering it to him.] Here, drink this. You look very thirsty.
proud_and_prussian: <lj user=longboats> (Beer is best)

[personal profile] proud_and_prussian 2012-06-02 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
[He grabs the coconut and downs the juice in one go. Sighing with relief, he wipes his mouth with the back of one hand, and only then does he thank him.]

Thanks India! That's a cool knife you've got there. Not as good as my sword back home, of course, but it's still looks pretty fucking sharp.
sanskrit: (mischievous ☆ spit in your tea)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It's called an aruval in my country. Back in the day it was used in battle, but these days, the only thing it's cracking are coconuts. [he shows the machete off a little before setting it down.] Have you been having fun here?
proud_and_prussian: <lj user=longboats> (Urmm...)

[personal profile] proud_and_prussian 2012-06-03 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
[He shrugs and chucks the empty coconut to the side.]

Eh, it's alright. It's a bit boring though. And that guy is here too. Urggghhh....
