Night One

After an excited day, night falls on the island. The beach is surprisingly bright at night thanks to the full moon above. As it was during the day, the island is very quiet at night and sounds consist of calming waves, soothing wind, chirping insects, and birds in the forest.

Status
Weather: Cool with clear skies and a light breeze.

Electronics: Overall, electronics function normally. Unlike during the day, Nations will be completely unable to catch any signals. Sorry, you'll have to update your F*cebook another time. Things of note:

Hong Kong's MP3 player will freeze when he tries to listen to it. Turning it off and then back on will correct the issue.

The batteries in Cuba and Latvia's flashlights will die despite the fact they had new batteries in them. They will have to replace the batteries to get the flashlights to work again.

Contrary to everyone else's wireless troubles, Iceland will be the only nation with any sort of signal on his cell phone. He will not have any problems with his phone.

Magic: Magic is very effective tonight, some times too effective. It must be the work of the full moon.

Animals: Pets will stay close to their owners but otherwise act normally.

Lithuania visits the spring at night. Despite his experience, anyone who visits the spring after this will notice nothing out of the ordinary.

A voice speaks to Italy.

Iceland and Hong Kong go to the mansion but are unable to explore further. The United Nations is notified and sends a reminder out. Iceland is the only one able to receive it.

Germany, China, Netherlands, Seychelles, and Japan hear things in the middle of the night.

Really? I thought this island was supposed to be deserted except for us nations … but never mind that. [ she peers over his shoulder at the display screen ] Let's help the others set up camp now and figure out this cellphone business later!

Someone could've set it up before. [ He quickly snaps the phone shut and looks over at her. ] Totally could've.

I guess everybody was too busy enjoying themselves to think about the practical things. [ she gives a nervous laugh. guess who was one of said carefree people? ]

[ Hey, he was too. ] Was everyone really having that much fun?

[ oh, good. that makes her feel a little less guilty about her own carelessness. ] They must have to forget about something so important. What other reason could there be?

Maybe they never thought about it.

Come to think of it, you're actually probably right, which gives us all the more reason to lend them a hand. [ people who never even think to set up the tent should probably not be trusted with the setup process in the first place. at least not on their own. ]

Yeah, you're right. [ He won't be any trouble (right now), promise. He pockets his phone and looks over at her. ] I helped with one of the others, so this can't be too hard, right?

My thoughts exactly. Besides, the more, the better. C'mon! [ and with that, she begins to trot in the direction of Spain and the others. ]

Okay, sure, I'm coming. [ He follows behind her, but no promises about not digging out his phone again to check for a signal. ]

Mesan! See, that resolution is improving international cooperation already. [ or so she would like to think. ]

Huh? Yeah! This place is almost like home away from home for someone like me despite the differences. It's also nice to be able to get away from all my troubles for a bit, too.

Yup. I still miss some things from home, of course, like the animals that can only be found in my house … but it could always be worse, and anyway, it's only for a few days.

Yeah, when you think about it, this is a pretty short trip.

I dunno how much good I can do. It's been awhile since I went camping.

Actually … camping is forbidden at my house, so to be honest, I probably know about as much as you do.

[ she probably should have mentioned that earlier. yeah. ]

It can't be that hard to figure out, though, right?

Especially since it looks like a lot of the others have already set their tents up. [ if those guys can do it, so can they!

Oh yeah, that's like, a good idea. [ He's on board with this. And he is insatiably curious, that too. ]

Yeah, if the old man and eyebrows can do it, surely we can. [ Hah... ha... ]

That's the spirit! Besides, it would be embarrassing to let a bunch of old guys beat us, right? [ even though they have old farts like rome and turkey in their tent, too … ]
