Day One

Day One

The nations arrive on the nameless island by boat at mid-afternoon. They will be dropped off at a quiet dock and boat will leave shortly after. At the end of the dock, they will find some items that have been sent ahead for them by their bosses. Among these items are:

- Four tents
- Packs of bottled water and snacks
- A fishing net and a pair of poles
- Two pots and a pan
- Four first aid kits
- A limited supply of alcohol
- An emergency radio
- A limited supply matches/lighters
- Two maps of the island

The beach is nice; clean with white sand and a shady forest up the shore. Aside from the sounds of the waves, seagulls, and the wind blowing through the forest, the island is silent. The nations wanted to a deserted, tropical island getaway and this is certainly the right place for it. The Nations can begin to set up camp or try to explore the island. Due to the time they arrived on the island, they won't be able to get too far before night falls.

Activity

Weather: Sunny, clear, and warm with the occasional cool breeze.

Electronics: Electronic items will work fine during the day without issue. If you're desperate to update your Tw*tter account, you might get lucky and find an area on the beach with a faint signal. It will take a few tries and some patience but you will be able to update your social network of choice or make a brief phone call before you lose connection.

Magic: Magic will work normally on the island during the day.

Animals: Any animal companions brought to the island by a nation will stay close to their companion. Otherwise, they will act normally.

???: No unusual activity.

Day One | Night One
Day 2 will go up on 4 June

Out of touch? I think you're talking about yourself again hermana. I spend plenty of time with my people.

[It's not like he's not painfully aware of the downsides of the current system. But sometimes you have to work with what you have. On that note.]

And that bastard? Kick him out. You're supposed to be an independent country, not a 'protectorate'.

[Come on, the hermana he knew would have fought.]

[ Cunning or cruelty? Iceland, you are a cold, cold guy, aren't you? ]

You'd seriously never believe me if I told you. [ Whether this means about sand piles shaped like China or his ninja skill, it isn't clear. Most likely it's the latter. ]
volcanoes: (than one hundred times to hear them)

[It's right there in the name. Also just look at his brothers, he's really just a baby Viking...]

Really? [Taking another photo to test this.]

Everyone!

Romano's probably working hard at home though. ( Hopefully he'll also watch over Toro and the garden. ) Oh, and everyone else too. Mexico and Argentina and Cuba. . .

( Spain Cuba is already here oh my god. )
zhongguo: (hard work)

[Babby is trying. Bless his heart.]

That's better, aru...

[Iceland is looking at the machete and coconut pile with an expression somewhere between curiosity and wariness.]

What are you doing? [There aren't palm trees on Iceland, he does not know how they work.]
likesottlyfab: (I love me some baltics)

Like irrelevant. [Hand wave.] That just makes the epic burn hurt all the more.

Wow this tent is bigger than I thought it would be.

We certainly won't have to worry about space. [Starting to set it up. He is so used to Poland not helping out with stuff like this he doesn't really notice Poland is just watching.] I think the instructions said it was for eleven?

[ Good point. On both counts, that is. ]

Yep. [ This time he manages a different pose, with both hands even. ]

Cry me a river and sing me a sad song!! I spent all my time at home already, so what if I go visit that gringo once in a while? It's not like I want to! [except when you do] It's more like I have to and if you pulled your head out your ass for one measly second, m'ijo, you'd know that!

So don't talk shit, 'cause you don't know shit! [huff huff]

And for your information, I, Luz María Colón, am not a protectorate, I am the Associate [pause] Free [pause] State of Puerto Rico, so let it sink in before I make it sink in!

[she fought so hard. she really did.]

[personal profile] seyitloud 2012-06-02 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
[ Seychelles lays her beach towel down next to Puerto Rico. Island nations unite. ]

I know, right? This place is so much like my house that it's almost hard to believe I'm actually on vacation. The United Nations should pass resolutions like this more often if you ask me.

[ Don't say that! He could very well be trying...

to intentionally sabotage this.

Okay, probably not. ]

Now what though? [ He holds up his progress, straightening it out a little. ]
volcanoes: (loans seldom get home laughing)

[That is the weirdest skill.] Have you ever had a bad photo taken of you?
bauhinia: (Default)

[personal profile] bauhinia 2012-06-02 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Y'know, I honestly don't know. [ But his ego just got bigger, that's for sure. ]
sanskrit: (curious ☆ tell me more)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
[he cracks a coconut open with the machete.] Namaste. I am collecting coconuts to share and enjoy. [he offers the coconut to iceland.] Would you like one? I know most nations aren't used to this weather, so it should make you feel better.
metronomelody: (bruderly love)

[personal profile] metronomelody 2012-06-02 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Remove your hands from me this instant--!! [Unassembled tent keeps getting closer and closer, until it's quite suddenly at Austria's feet.]

Fine. [He'll huff loudly and try to regain his dignified composure prior to Prussia's man-handling.] It would probably be foolish of us to entrust our living quarters to your sole care.

[Picking up a pole, he'll inspect it throughly while working at a painfully slow artisans' pace.]
volcanoes: (least said soonest mended)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
I could go ask England or something. He's pretty bad at everything so if anyone took a bad picture of you it's probably him. [He's lying there's no way he'd go talk to England about anything except how stupid England is. Also is it even possible for your ego to get bigger?]
volcanoes: (many are blamed for nothing)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. [That's pretty neat, not that he would say that out loud... He takes the coconut.] ...Yeah, it usually doesn't get this hot up where I live. [Because you're on the Arctic Circle, Iceland.]
bauhinia: (Default)

[personal profile] bauhinia 2012-06-02 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, probably when I was littler or something. [ Whoa, let's not pursue that train of thought. Nor speculate about how stupid England may or may not be....

And yes, it is completely possible for his ego to get bigger. It is only limited in a horizontal sense. It can grow infinitely in a vertical direction. ]
sanskrit: (england ☆ meet raaj my tiger)

[personal profile] sanskrit 2012-06-02 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
[he's trying to remember who this is, but it doesn't take that long.] Ah, Iceland, yes? I remember you now. [and maybe something to do with financial things and england screaming about some volcano.] Some parts of my home are much like this, but I usually I'm stuck in the major cities.
volcanoes: (blind is a man without a book)

at the spring

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Iceland has opted for both getting away from all the noisiness and taking cover under some trees and ducked off into the forest for a while. Norway would be proud, maybe, if he wasn't off looking at trees. But it's not long before he comes to the spring, and he decides sitting on the bank and reading is a good idea. At least it's a bit cooler here.]
likesottlyfab: (did someone say sleepover?)

[personal profile] likesottlyfab 2012-06-02 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Picking up a pole to wave it around.]

That's a lot of tent for two people. Sweet! [Yup. This is totally just our tent Liet.]
volcanoes: (least said soonest mended)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Iceland doesn't want to think about baby pictures. Or baby portraits, which Iceland can't guarantee Norway doesn't have on him at any moment somehow.]

Get revenge, take pictures of England.
bauhinia: (Default)

[personal profile] bauhinia 2012-06-02 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ It's hard being the baby of the group, isn't it? ]

Oh, believe me, I have.
volcanoes: (least said soonest mended)

[personal profile] volcanoes 2012-06-02 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, yay, he's remembered. He likes it when he's remembered... Not so much for the financial stuff and volcanoes, though...]

There are beaches but not like this. I guess you'd get used to it if you lived somewhere this hot.
